In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Al-salam 'alaykum wa-rahmat Allah wa-barakatuhu kulluhu. Wa 'alaykum al-salam wa-rahmat Allah wa-barakatuhu kulluhu. May all the peace, the beneficence, and the blessing of God be upon us all. May God help us all. My love you (anbu), my dearest loving brothers and sisters - Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler). Here is an expanded version of several discourses (five of them) given to us by our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and by God within Him, all of which have the same theme, which is "The Love of God" within us, which is our true heritage, our true birthright, not what we now have in the world, and this "Love of God" must come out of us, must be revealed from within us, by Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, having recoverd from his fall from grace within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us, before we physically die to the "outside" of us, if we are to become successful in our own lifetime. Amen. 1. The Cause of Our Suffering - is our failure to join in partnership with God within us for our age, which for our age is our failure to join as "One with" Bawa within us, and with God within Him, to allow God within us to finish what He has started with each of us, which is to reveal God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us And in this way, the "cause of our suffering" is this, is our failure to let our true heritage, our true birthright happen within us, to let the "Love of God" within us be revealed from within us, is our failure to join in partnership with God within us for our age, which for our age is our failure to join as "One with" Bawa within us, and with God within Him, to allow God within us to finish what He has started with each of us, which is to reveal God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us. And not letting this happen within us, is the "cause of our suffering", of a suffering that is only beginning for us, a suffering that we will only truly experience after we physically die to the "outside" of us, and a suffering that is not being given to us by God, but rather a suffering that is being taken on by us, a suffering that in our ignorance is being taken on for us by our arrogance, karma, and illusion, by our desire for earth, women, and gold, by our failure to grasp the truth of "who we really are", of "where we really are", and "what is truly happening" in our life. 2. May We Do "At Least As Much" As An Apple Seed - and germinate, and let the "truth surrender to the truth" within us, revealing the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us, before it is too late, before we physically die to the "outside" of us, and before one of us destroys the "outside" of us, for all of us, which is certainly something that can also happen to us in our lifetime. May we all awaken to the "truth of us", which is the "Seed of God" within us, within the Creation of God within us, which is "God happening" within us, within the Creation of God within us, and to the "truth of God" within us, which is the "Seed of True Man" within us, within the "Seed of God" within us, which is "True Man happening" within us, within "God happening" within the Creation of God within us. Which is like what Bawa teaches us an apple seed buried within the earth does, at least some of them, before it germinates, that it realizes, understands, accepts, and joins with the truth of itself, and the truth of the apple seed within it, a truth that naturally emerges from within it when it is ready to hear it, and ready to either accept or reject it, the truth of itself, that it is an "apple seed", that it is "buried within the earth", and the "earth contains everything necessary" for the apple tree hidden within it to grow, and the truth of the "apple seed" hidden within it, that is the "seed of the apple fruit" that it came to the earth, to join with the earth, to reveal. And in this way, the apple seed buried within the earth, and the apple tree hidden within it, and the earth, become "One" and let the "truth surrender to the truth" within them, and the apple seed germinates. May we at least do this in our lifetime, may we at least do as much as an apple seed, and germinate, and let the "truth surrender to the truth" within us, revealing the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us, before it is too late, before we physically die to the "outside" of us, and before one of us destroys the "outside" of us, for all of us, which is certainly something that can also happen to us in our lifetime. Part 2 of The Expanded Answer - in truth "women" is the sorrow of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, "woman" is the clouds and colors in the sky within us that also came to the earth world or dunya with Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, when he, through the actions of satan within us, while with the "eye of wisdom" was closed within us, fell from the grace of God within us and was cast away from heaven within us by God within us, in this way, the "woman" aspect within each of us living in the world today is the clouds and color in the sky within us, that now falsely define us as "separate from" God within us, as "separate from" each other on the "outside" of us, and as "separate from" the Creation of God within us, that now hide the light of the Sun of God within us, from the Creation of God within us, and is what Adam (peace be upon Him), as the Father of man within us, must part within us, must cut away within us, with the grace, the wisdom, and the 'ilm or divine knowledge of God within us, after he has recovered from his fall from grace within us, in this way, revealing True Man within God within us, as the light of the grace of God within the Father of man within us, as the light of the Sun within us, as the "Sun of God" within the "Son of Man" c-3. Part 3 of The Expanded Answer - is a quotation from the "Kalimah Song", April 26, 1972, that teaches us about the true nature of the Kalimah, and of each of us, and what it reveals within us when it is recited within us, without being recited by us, as "separate from" God within us, but rather by "Us" joined as "One with" God within us, "That is the Perfection. That is the Perfection and the Word of the Shaikh, the language of your leader Allah. The form within which the ruh and the Light stand in unison. In Truth the Grace which stands in the form of Light. That Grace is the Resonance of Allah, and the Resonance is Allah, and you will be within it. Our True Work Within Us - is to return Adam (peace be upon Him) within us to his original state of grace within us, but this time with an understanding of his original state of grace within us, in order to transcend the "woman" aspect within us, which has grown over this original state within us, like clouds hiding the light of the moon, or even of the sun, that has grown over the "true Us", revealing instead the "false us", with all of this occurring within us in the "earth world" or dunya within us, in our ignorance of "who we are", of "where we are", and of "what is happening" in our life, so Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, having recovered from his fall, can part the clouds and colors that are hiding the light of God within us, doing this through our faith and trust in God, and only in God within us, by "us" joining in partnership with God within us, and with the Children of God on the "outside" of us, before we die to the "outside" of us B. Part 1 of The Expanded Answer: In this way, the light of God's grace within us is our true destiny, the destiny of our soul within us, so for us to be truly successful in our lifetime, the clouds of our life must be parted by the "Father of man" within us, by Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, revealing the Sun of God, the Light of God's grace within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us, with Adam (peace be upon Him) naturally doing this within us after he has recovered from his fall from grace within us And in this way, this is our work within us, not working for wages on the "outside" of us to get into some illusory heaven on the "outside" of us, but rather to join in partnership with God within us, becoming "One with" God within us, in this way, allowing God within us to again accept Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, in this way, allowing Adam (peace be upon Him) within us to recover from his fall from grace within us, and to then complete the destiny of our soul, parting the clouds and colors of our life within us and revealing the Sun of God within us. Amen And the light of God's grace within us is our true destiny, the destiny of our soul within us, that is, the clouds of our life must be parted by the Father of man within us, by Adam (peace be upon Him) within us having recovered from his fall from grace within us, through our faith and trust in God within us, which is each of us currently living in our ignorance on the "outside" of us, so that True Man within us, as the light of the grace of God within us, is revealed to the world within us, as the Sun of God, transforming this earth world or dunya within us into the hereafter or akhirah within us. Part 2 of The Expanded Answer - in truth "women" is the sorrow of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, is the clouds and colors in the sky that also came to the earth world or dunya with Adam (peace be upon Him) when he fell from the grace of God within us, and God cast him out of heaven within us and into hell within us Part 2 of Original Answer: "For when Adam (peace be upon Him) was cast away from heaven through the actions of satan, sorrow fell with him like clouds and colors in the sky". Part 2 of The Expanded Answer: For in truth "women" is the sorrow of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, "woman" is the clouds and colors in the sky within us that also came to the earth world or dunya with Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, when he, through the actions of satan within us, while with the "eye of wisdom" was closed within us, fell from the grace of God within us and was cast away from heaven within us by God within us. With all of this naturally occurring within us, if we will only let it, if we will only join in partnership with God within to recover Adam (peace be upon Him) from his fall from grace within us, doing this through the true faith and trust in God, and only in God, within us, of the Children of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, which is currently each of us living a life of "separation and differences" on the "outside" of us, a life of selfishness, a life of sin, in the world that we see in our collective ignorance as existing on the "outside" of us. In this way, if we join with the Creation of God within us to die to our current life of sin on the "outside" of us, in order to recover Adam (peace be upon Him) from His fall within us, our life will become successful in our own lifetime, and in this way, with Adam (peace be upon Him) within us coming again to completion within us, but this time with an understanding of that completeness, of who he "already is", so it will never leave him again, an understanding of his completeness, which is "Alhamd", which is the 5 letter form of "Alhamd" within us, of alif, lam, mim, hay, and dahl within us, which is the secret form of the truth of Allah within us. Amen. This is the true meaning of Adam falling from grace through the actions of satan, being cast away from heaven by God and then coming down to this earth world or dunya as Adam and Eve (peace be upon Him), as man and woman living in the world that we now see in our ignorance as existing on the "outside" of us, living as Adam (peace be upon Him), as the Father of man having fallen from grace, and as women, which in truth is the sorrows of Adam (peace be upon Him), which is like the clouds and colors in the sky hiding the sun, which Adam (peace be upon Him) must learn to part, if he is ever to reveal light of the grace of God within him, that he has come to this illusory world to understand and reveal, which is True Man within god within him, revealing the Sun of God, revealing the light of the grace of God within the Father of man. Amen. My dearest loving brother and sisters, please keep in mind that in this context the term "women" is not referring to a person, or to the two opposite sex of male and female, it is not referring to the "women" living in the world as separate from the men living in the world, it is not referring to the men and women who marry and have children, and try to form loving families, and raise their children to be true Children of God for this age, as we are used to using the term, because in truth we are all both, both man and women, we are all Adam (peace be upon) having fallen from grace within us, which is each of us having fallen from the direct "Presence of God" within us. And we are all Adam (peace be upon Him) within us who through God's design, and through the actions of satan within us, that is, the actions of satan who was created by God within us at the same time that He created Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, in this way, causing Adam (peace be upon Him) within us to be thrown out of heaven within us, out of heaven within us which are the places of purity and wisdom and clarity within us, which is our pure birth within us before our impure birth within us, and thrown into the world of darkness and evil within us which is our impure birth, which is the earth world or dunya within us which we currently see in our ignorance as "outside" of us, that we currently see as "us" living with our dearest loving brothers and sisters in the world that we see in our collective ignorance as existing on the "outside" of us. No, what "women" truly means, as used by His Holiness in this and in many other discourses, is that aspect of all of our lives that is the cause of our sorrow, that aspect of ourselves which provides a true contrast to Adam (peace be upon Him) within us before the fall of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, a contrast which allows understanding to occur within us, if we will only join with God within us, with the "Stuff of God" within us, with the grace, the wisdom, and 'ilm or divine knowledge of God within us, to let it occur within us. A contrast within us which if not understood and looked at with our wisdom, becomes and stays as the clouds and colors of our life, as the "women" aspect of our life, that we cannot part, that we cannot cut open and reveal the light of the Sun that it is covering, that becomes in our ignorance our illusory life of "separation and differences" on the "outside" of us, a life that "separates us from God within us, from each other on the "outside" of us, and from the Creation of God within us, a life that becomes our "arrogance, karma, and illusion" within us, our "desire for earth, women, and gold" within us, that we experience in our ignorance as the "outside" of us. That becomes our life of "body, trick, and danger", that becomes in maturity the "four destructive women" within us, and the "four false gurus" within us, (see Chapter 01, Chapter 04, and Chapter 20, in the beautiful book of wisdom, "The Pearl of Wisdom), that covers the "truth of our life", which is "God happening" within the Creation of God within us, and the "truth of God" within us, which is "True Man happening" within "God happening" within the Creation of God within us, which is the story of God within the story of True Man within us and story of True Man within the story of God within us, which is what They are doing within us, which is telling each other's story within us, which is what God has started within us, a very, very long time ago, even before we were born, even before we came to this earth world, which is to reveal God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us, by first revealing True Man to True Man within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of True Man within us. And all of this is what is being covered over within us, by the "cloud and color" within us, by the "women" aspect within us, all of this "God's Stuff" within us is what is being blocked by our current life on the "outside" of us, by "Our Stuff" on the "outside" of us, by our current life of "separation from" God, of "separation from" each other, and of "separation from" the Creation of God within us. And all of this is what God sent down with Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, along with Adam (peace be upon Him) within us when God throw him out of heaven within us, sent down as the "cloud and color" of the sky within us, as the "women" aspect of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, as the "women" aspect of each of us now living in this age on the "outside" of us, as the Children of Adam (peace be upon Him) both within and on the "outside" of us, just waiting for Adam (peace be upon Him) within us to recover from his fall, just waiting for the "Power of God" within us to burn away the clouds covering the light of the Sun, while each of us continue to live in our ignorance on this earth world or dunya, which in our ignorance is our current life of "separation and differences" that we currently see as existing on the "outside" of us. It is this that is the "woman" aspect of all of our lives, which must be parted within us, by God within us, by the "Power of God" within us, in order to reveal the light of God within us, in order to reveal the light of the grace of God that Created Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, which must be parted within us by the "man" aspect of all of our lives, by Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, again as the Father of man within us, having returned to his original state of grace within us, having come to understand and part the "woman" aspect within us, which is the illusory form of each of us living in this earth world or dunya within us. With all of this naturally happening within each of us, according to God's design, if that be our true intention, if our true intention is to become "One with" God within us, before we die to the "outside" of us, with this naturally happening within us when the "man" aspect within us is properly applied to "what God is doing within us", which is revealing God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God (the earth world or dunya) within us, by first revealing True Man within True Man within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of True Man (the hereafter or akhirah) within us, with this naturally happening within us when Adam (peace be upon Him) within us having fallen from grace, recovers from his fall, with him naturally recovering from his fall from grace within us, when each of "us" as his Children begin to trust and love only in God within us, allowing the grace of God to flow within us, allowing the darkness to vanish within us, allowing the "love of Guru" to grow within us, allowing our qualities to be purified within us. Amen. Allowing God within us to reveal True Man within God within us, revealing the light of the grace of God within us, parting the clouds and color within us, the "women" aspect within us, through the grace, the wisdom, and the 'ilm or divine knowledge of God within us, and doing all of this before we physically die to the "outside" of us. And doing all of this when and if we have truly learned and demonstrated all of this to God within us, and to all of the "Stuff of God" within us, by establishing the true Shaikh-Disciple Relationship within us, by joining as "One with" our wisdom within us and with the truth of God within our wisdom, with Bawa within us, and with God within Him, and in this way, by demonstrating to Them within us our ability to love and trust only in God within us, showing Them our Iman, which in truth is showing "God's belief in God" within us, to God within us, in this way "seeing and steadying God" within us, and demonstrating to God within us, by demonstrating to Them within us that we no longer have the world within us, that we no longer have any trust in or love for the world on the "outside" of us. That is, with all of this happening within us when we again become the Father of man within us, when Adam (peace be upon Him) within us recovers from his fall within us, and parts the clouds of our life, removes the colors of our life, and in this way, transcends the "women" aspect of us, and reveals the light of the Sun of God for all of the Children of God living in our age, in this way, like Abraham (peace be upon Him), and Jesus (peace be upon Him), and Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), before him, coming as the "Guru of God" to all lights on earth. And in a larger context which includes at the end the above quotation, our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and God within Him, teach us the following, in the beautiful "Kalimah Song", given to us by His Holiness on April 26, 1972, ---- beginning of Quotation from His Holiness Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) ---- "He alone may worship Him. No one else can do this. You cannot worship with the body. It is the Life and Wisdom united with each other, in a state of propriety mingled with the Nur, and in the concentration of that Light, that One must worship. The One has to worship the One who Is. That state of worship will become Him and That will be understood as That. It is this state that is deathless for which there is no rebirth. In that state the Word and the Worship become Him, and the Continuous light and the Wisdom and Nur become Him. That will become the Resplendent Rahman in this world and the next. Other than This there is no other way to be the Ruler over here and there. My dear brother and my children, if within your concentration with meaning, you can say this concentratedly, that is enough, that is enough. The physical body will be separated. In the inner section the Luminous Wisdom will shine, when you stand in the path of Wisdom and recite this meaning with Love. If you steady the Ill-Allahu, after that there is nothing else. There is no birth, death, or destruction, there is no rebirth after that. This meaning that exists without anything else, you have to recite it and obtain determination. My children, surrendering at the feet of the Guru, knowing the word of the heart of the Guru, knowing with your wisdom and understanding with your obedience. Finding complete conviction, enter within and say the Kalimah, Ill-Allahu. Say, Ill-Allahu, and then say, Ill-Allahu. Recite La-Illaha and then recite Ill-Allahu, and hold steady the Ill-Allahu. Do not just say it in words, dare to understand it with wisdom and faith, faith in the way in which you can hold the meaning that is beyond the boundaries of the two worlds. Hold steady the Ill-Allahu and become it. Hold it within the Qalb and become it. Say La-Illaha and overcome. Say La-Illaha and discard. Say Ill-Allahu and steady Him within. Say Ill-Allahu and steady Him within. Say it without saying and stand there. With your ruh and with your Wisdom, vibrate and face Them, vibrate and face Them. Hold steady Ill-Allahu. That is the explanation in that Light. That is the Light. That is the explanation. That is the death of the world. That is the reality of the One Allahu. That is the reality. If the children take the meaning of this state and recite it, if that Divine Word is said without saying, that state will become the state of personal worship of God. Recite in Truth on this path. That is the Perfection. That is the Perfection and the Word of the Shaikh, the language of your leader Allah. The form within which the ruh and the Light stand in unison. In Truth the Grace which stands in the form of Light. That Grace is the Resonance of Allah, and the Resonance is Allah, and you will be within it. Then our life will become successful in our own lifetime. Then our wisdom will reason over our fate. Then the qualities of our upper selves will become victorious over the qualities of our lower selves. Amen. This is God's guarantee for this age. In this way, allowing the "Power of God" within us to be directly applied to all that is "separating us" from God within us, and from all that is "separating us" from each other on the "outside" of us, and from the Creation of God within us, and in this way, bringing the Creation of God within us to completion within us, finding completion within God's grace, wisdom within our completeness, truth within our wisdom, and the "Oneness of God and True Man" within our truth, within our wisdom, within our completeness, and within God's grace. Original Version His Holiness Teaches Us: "People say that when a disciple is ready, the Shaikh will appear at his side. What is the meaning?" The poet Selvaratnam asked His Holiness Bawa Muhaiyaddeen. His Holiness replied, "O poet, although this question can be answered in one word, let me explain something to you. The outside world is merely an example which illustrates the worlds and universes within us. Every human being, whether it be you or anyone else, carries many worlds and many disciples within himself. Within your mind, you confer with kings, ministers, representatives and messengers. You carry within you princely palaces with towers, infantries, artillery, cavalries, soldier on elephants, navies, airforces and many demonic forces, and you depend on their help. As long as you depend on the world, you are relying on these forces within yourself. But they are changing and perishable and they can let you down. You must place your faith in the one indestructible, imperishable God. To do this, you must stop depending on the kings, forces, and armies within you. When you give up all this and stand defenseless and alone, saying, "O God, it is all Your will," the Shaikh will stand by your side. It is only when you surrender to Allah that the Shaikh who is the explaining wisdom of the Qutbiyaat which guides you on the path to God will come to stand by your side. "Son!" he will say, "now you are ready. Come, let us go." When that time comes, you will no longer be the firewood, you will have become the fire; you will not be the gem, but the light within the gem; you will not be the sun, but the light of the sun; you will not have the world within you, but you will bring resplendence to the world. 2. Only when the flower blossoms does the fragrance emanate. If your heart is closed, the bliss and the beauty will not be experienced. Only when your heart blooms will the fragrance of grace, the fragrance of wisdom, the fragrance of the soul and the fragrance of Allah's rahmat come forth. It is all there within your heart and when it blooms, its beauty and its fragrance will be revealed. If the heart is open, all those who love this fragrance, all who can appreciated its scent will draw near the heart and say, "O this is beautiful. It has a wonderful fragrance." Those with wisdom will come and appreciate you. Those who can experience this fragrance will realize your beauty. You must keep the flower of your heart safe. The heart is a flower garden. You must not think that this garden is somewhere outside of you. Some say that heaven is filled with beautiful springs, beautiful houses and gardens. But there is no place called heaven outside you. It is within. All those houses, gardens, fruits and flowers, all the seventy thousand flower fragrances and the seventy thousand tastes of the fruits are within your heart. The river of milk, the river of honey and the river of ambrosia are all within your heart. This is the pure house. The heart is the kingdom of heaven, your father's kingdom. This is your prayer mat, your place of worship. This is the flower garden of your life. Your qualities are the flowers and your actions are the fruits of that garden. Your duty, your love and your loving qualities are the seventy thousand tastes in that fruit. The duties and the actions that you do for God here in the world will become the houris that serve you there. The benefits you earn and what you seek in this world will be the house created for you there. The prayers you perform, the duties you do, the charity and love you give, the unity you have and the lessons you learn are all equal to just one drop. But if you use that one drop and continue to do your duty and keep digging within, then the spring of Allah's grace and his qualities will flow in abundance. If you give Allah just one word, you will be able to hear so many of Allah's words of grace. Even though each effort may equal just one drop, if you constantly search with one-pointedness, there will be a steady dripping which will loosen the soil and allow you to dig deeper. As you dig within, there will be a melting and a dissolving. many springs will open up within you. But if you drip just one drop and think, "I did it! This is so much!" there can be no benefit. God gives abundantly. He does not say,' I am doing this.' You give only one tiny drop of prayer to him, but he gives in abundance. You should think about how much he gives, how he causes things to increase and multiply. You must forget the I. In all your prayers you must surrender and give all responsibility to Allah. Whenever you utter the Kalima, know that you do so in the presence of God, and that it is been uttered in the beginningless beginning, in the present and that it shall be uttered in the hereafter. That utterance will be the result of conviction and faith in the truth of the Kalima. I solemnly vow that you, whoever you may be, and that I must utter the Kalima at these three times: In awwal, in this world and in the next world. That Kalima which we have uttered in the time that was beginningless must grow, and it must continue to grow, like a tree. It must grow within the sanctuary of our heart, and it should after a time show strong and firm growth. Not only must we constantly foster the growth of that beautiful tree, but we must induce it to bear fruit, so that the fruits of that tree ripen to perfection and be always delectable. That tree should reflect the mature and ripened fruits of Iman. These fruits of Iman, we must constantly gather in our lives, so that they can satiate our spiritual hunger. How best would that fruit be described? You are aware of the two wings of a bird. It has the gift of flight; it becomes elated and flies high into the sky. But however high it may soar into the sky in the appreciation of the gift of flight, yet it must sometime soon seek a branch of a tree to rest. If there is no such branch it will be compelled to come down to earth. Man is like that too. Whatever spiritual rank or distinction elevates him will be reflected in the tree of his Kalima. That tree would have to have grown and the fruits of his certitude would have to have ripened and matured in the time measured from the beginningless beginning to the end. And if in this time, the tree has grown and the fruit has ripened, then by the very perfection of his iman, he will realize fulfillment in the present and in the time to come. Therefore, to whatever heights he renders worship, he would still be able to rest awhile on the tree of his certitude, like a bird flying in the sky. If his certitude has grown from awwal to akhir, then he can fly with the wings of his worship, and like the flight of a bird on its wings, he can rest awhile on the perfection which is his iman. When this tree has grown up to that center where God reposes in Absolute truth, up to the Throne of God, then he can eat the fruit of certitude there and repose in that state of fulfillment. The growth of the tree of the kalimah must be fostered in order that it will grow with a luxuriant growth and then that it would flower, and then that it would fruit, after which the fruits would mature and begin to ripen. This requires time and the assiduous cultivation of the kalimah, the essence of which is certitude. This is a basic necessity for the present and for the future, for life and for death. It is incumbent upon us to acquire it soon. It is very necessary for every act of worship, for all our prayers, for our many methods of worship and prayer, and finally for the contentment to be derived from that certitude. The Cause of Our Suffering - is our failure to join in partnership with God within us for our age, which for our age is our failure to join as "One with" Bawa within us, and with God within Him, to allow God within us to finish what He has started with each of us, which is to reveal God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us And in this way, the "cause of our suffering" is this, is our failure to let our true heritage, our true birthright happen within us, to let the "Love of God" within us be revealed from within us, is our failure to join in partnership with God within us for our age, which for our age is our failure to join as "One with" Bawa within us, and with God within Him, to allow God within us to finish what He has started with each of us, which is to reveal God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us. And not letting this happen within us, is the "cause of our suffering", of a suffering that is only beginning for us, a suffering that we will only truly experience after we physically die to the "outside" of us, and a suffering that is not being given to us by God, but rather a suffering that is being taken on by us, a suffering that in our ignorance is being taken on for us by our arrogance, karma, and illusion, by our desire for earth, women, and gold, by our failure to grasp the truth of "who we really are", of "where we really are", and "what is truly happening" in our life. 2. May We Do "At Least As Much" As An Apple Seed - and germinate, and let the "truth surrender to the truth" within us, revealing the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us, before it is too late, before we physically die to the "outside" of us, and before one of us destroys the "outside" of us, for all of us, which is certainly something that can also happen to us in our lifetime. May we all awaken to the "truth of us", which is the "Seed of God" within us, within the Creation of God within us, which is "God happening" within us, within the Creation of God within us, and to the "truth of God" within us, which is the "Seed of True Man" within us, within the "Seed of God" within us, which is "True Man happening" within us, within "God happening" within the Creation of God within us. Which is like what Bawa teaches us an apple seed buried within the earth does, at least some of them, before it germinates, that it realizes, understands, accepts, and joins with the truth of itself, and the truth of the apple seed within it, a truth that naturally emerges from within it when it is ready to hear it, and ready to either accept or reject it, the truth of itself, that it is an "apple seed", that it is "buried within the earth", and the "earth contains everything necessary" for the apple tree hidden within it to grow, and the truth of the "apple seed" hidden within it, that is the "seed of the apple fruit" that it came to the earth, to join with the earth, to reveal. And in this way, the apple seed buried within the earth, and the apple tree hidden within it, and the earth, become "One" and let the "truth surrender to the truth" within them, and the apple seed germinates. May we at least do this in our lifetime, may we at least do as much as an apple seed, and germinate, and let the "truth surrender to the truth" within us, revealing the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us, before it is too late, before we physically die to the "outside" of us, and before one of us destroys the "outside" of us, for all of us, which is certainly something that can also happen to us in our lifetime. Amen And the light of God's grace within us is our true destiny, the destiny of our soul within us, that is, the clouds of our life must be parted by the Father of man within us, by Adam (peace be upon Him) within us having recovered from his fall from grace within us, through our faith and trust in God within us, which is each of us currently living in our ignorance on the "outside" of us, so that True Man within us, as the light of the grace of God within us, is revealed to the world within us, as the Sun of God, transforming this earth world or dunya within us into the hereafter or akhirah within us. With all of this naturally occurring within us, if we will only let it, if we will only join in partnership with God within to recover Adam (peace be upon Him) from his fall from grace within us, doing this through the true faith and trust in God, and only in God, within us, of the Children of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, which is currently each of us living a life of "separation and differences" on the "outside" of us, a life of selfishness, a life of sin, in the world that we see in our collective ignorance as existing on the "outside" of us. In this way, if we join with the Creation of God within us to die to our current life of sin on the "outside" of us, in order to recover Adam (peace be upon Him) from His fall within us, our life will become successful in our own lifetime, and in this way, with Adam (peace be upon Him) within us coming again to completion within us, but this time with an understanding of that completeness, of who he "already is", so it will never leave him again, an understanding of his completeness, which is "Alhamd", which is the 5 letter form of "Alhamd" within us, of alif, lam, mim, hay, and dahl within us, which is the secret form of the truth of Allah within us. Amen. This is the true meaning of Adam falling from grace through the actions of satan, being cast away from heaven by God and then coming down to this earth world or dunya as Adam and Eve (peace be upon Him), as man and woman living in the world that we now see in our ignorance as existing on the "outside" of us, living as Adam (peace be upon Him), as the Father of man having fallen from grace, and as women, which in truth is the sorrows of Adam (peace be upon Him), which is like the clouds and colors in the sky hiding the sun, which Adam (peace be upon Him) must learn to part, if he is ever to reveal light of the grace of God within him, that he has come to this illusory world to understand and reveal, which is True Man within god within him, revealing the Sun of God, revealing the light of the grace of God within the Father of man. Amen. My dearest loving brother and sisters, please keep in mind that in this context the term "women" is not referring to a person, or to the two opposite sex of male and female, it is not referring to the "women" living in the world as separate from the men living in the world, it is not referring to the men and women who marry and have children, and try to form loving families, and raise their children to be true Children of God for this age, as we are used to using the term, because in truth we are all both, both man and women, we are all Adam (peace be upon) having fallen from grace within us, which is each of us having fallen from the direct "Presence of God" within us. And we are all Adam (peace be upon Him) within us who through God's design, and through the actions of satan within us, that is, the actions of satan who was created by God within us at the same time that He created Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, in this way, causing Adam (peace be upon Him) within us to be thrown out of heaven within us, out of heaven within us which are the places of purity and wisdom and clarity within us, which is our pure birth within us before our impure birth within us, and thrown into the world of darkness and evil within us which is our impure birth, which is the earth world or dunya within us which we currently see in our ignorance as "outside" of us, that we currently see as "us" living with our dearest loving brothers and sisters in the world that we see in our collective ignorance as existing on the "outside" of us. No, what "women" truly means, as used by His Holiness in this and in many other discourses, is that aspect of all of our lives that is the cause of our sorrow, that aspect of ourselves which provides a true contrast to Adam (peace be upon Him) within us before the fall of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, a contrast which allows understanding to occur within us, if we will only join with God within us, with the "Stuff of God" within us, with the grace, the wisdom, and 'ilm or divine knowledge of God within us, to let it occur within us. A contrast within us which if not understood and looked at with our wisdom, becomes and stays as the clouds and colors of our life, as the "women" aspect of our life, that we cannot part, that we cannot cut open and reveal the light of the Sun that it is covering, that becomes in our ignorance our illusory life of "separation and differences" on the "outside" of us, a life that "separates us from God within us, from each other on the "outside" of us, and from the Creation of God within us, a life that becomes our "arrogance, karma, and illusion" within us, our "desire for earth, women, and gold" within us, that we experience in our ignorance as the "outside" of us. That becomes our life of "body, trick, and danger", that becomes in maturity the "four destructive women" within us, and the "four false gurus" within us, (see Chapter 01, Chapter 04, and Chapter 20, in the beautiful book of wisdom, "The Pearl of Wisdom), that covers the "truth of our life", which is "God happening" within the Creation of God within us, and the "truth of God" within us, which is "True Man happening" within "God happening" within the Creation of God within us, which is the story of God within the story of True Man within us and story of True Man within the story of God within us, which is what They are doing within us, which is telling each other's story within us, which is what God has started within us, a very, very long time ago, even before we were born, even before we came to this earth world, which is to reveal God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us, by first revealing True Man to True Man within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of True Man within us. And all of this is what is being covered over within us, by the "cloud and color" within us, by the "women" aspect within us, all of this "God's Stuff" within us is what is being blocked by our current life on the "outside" of us, by "Our Stuff" on the "outside" of us, by our current life of "separation from" God, of "separation from" each other, and of "separation from" the Creation of God within us. And all of this is what God sent down with Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, along with Adam (peace be upon Him) within us when God throw him out of heaven within us, sent down as the "cloud and color" of the sky within us, as the "women" aspect of Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, as the "women" aspect of each of us now living in this age on the "outside" of us, as the Children of Adam (peace be upon Him) both within and on the "outside" of us, just waiting for Adam (peace be upon Him) within us to recover from his fall, just waiting for the "Power of God" within us to burn away the clouds covering the light of the Sun, while each of us continue to live in our ignorance on this earth world or dunya, which in our ignorance is our current life of "separation and differences" that we currently see as existing on the "outside" of us. It is this that is the "woman" aspect of all of our lives, which must be parted within us, by God within us, by the "Power of God" within us, in order to reveal the light of God within us, in order to reveal the light of the grace of God that Created Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, which must be parted within us by the "man" aspect of all of our lives, by Adam (peace be upon Him) within us, again as the Father of man within us, having returned to his original state of grace within us, having come to understand and part the "woman" aspect within us, which is the illusory form of each of us living in this earth world or dunya within us. With all of this naturally happening within each of us, according to God's design, if that be our true intention, if our true intention is to become "One with" God within us, before we die to the "outside" of us, with this naturally happening within us when the "man" aspect within us is properly applied to "what God is doing within us", which is revealing God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God (the earth world or dunya) within us, by first revealing True Man within True Man within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of True Man (the hereafter or akhirah) within us, with this naturally happening within us when Adam (peace be upon Him) within us having fallen from grace, recovers from his fall, with him naturally recovering from his fall from grace within us, when each of "us" as his Children begin to trust and love only in God within us, allowing the grace of God to flow within us, allowing the darkness to vanish within us, allowing the "love of Guru" to grow within us, allowing our qualities to be purified within us. Amen. Allowing God within us to reveal True Man within God within us, revealing the light of the grace of God within us, parting the clouds and color within us, the "women" aspect within us, through the grace, the wisdom, and the 'ilm or divine knowledge of God within us, and doing all of this before we physically die to the "outside" of us. And doing all of this when and if we have truly learned and demonstrated all of this to God within us, and to all of the "Stuff of God" within us, by establishing the true Shaikh-Disciple Relationship within us, by joining as "One with" our wisdom within us and with the truth of God within our wisdom, with Bawa within us, and with God within Him, and in this way, by demonstrating to Them within us our ability to love and trust only in God within us, showing Them our Iman, which in truth is showing "God's belief in God" within us, to God within us, in this way "seeing and steadying God" within us, and demonstrating to God within us, by demonstrating to Them within us that we no longer have the world within us, that we no longer have any trust in or love for the world on the "outside" of us. That is, with all of this happening within us when we again become the Father of man within us, when Adam (peace be upon Him) within us recovers from his fall within us, and parts the clouds of our life, removes the colors of our life, and in this way, transcends the "women" aspect of us, and reveals the light of the Sun of God for all of the Children of God living in our age, in this way, like Abraham (peace be upon Him), and Jesus (peace be upon Him), and Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), before him, coming as the "Guru of God" to all lights on earth. No one else can do this. You cannot worship with the body. It is the Life and Wisdom united with each other, in a state of propriety mingled with the Nur, and in the concentration of that Light, that One must worship. The One has to worship the One who Is. That state of worship will become Him and That will be understood as That. It is this state that is deathless for which there is no rebirth. In that state the Word and the Worship become Him, and the Continuous light and the Wisdom and Nur become Him. That will become the Resplendent Rahman in this world and the next. Other than This there is no other way to be the Ruler over here and there. My dear brother and my children, if within your concentration with meaning, you can say this concentratedly, that is enough, that is enough. The physical body will be separated. In the inner section the Luminous Wisdom will shine, when you stand in the path of Wisdom and recite this meaning with Love. If you steady the Ill-Allahu, after that there is nothing else. There is no birth, death, or destruction, there is no rebirth after that. This meaning that exists without anything else, you have to recite it and obtain determination. My children, surrendering at the feet of the Guru, knowing the word of the heart of the Guru, knowing with your wisdom and understanding with your obedience. Finding complete conviction, enter within and say the Kalimah, Ill-Allahu. Say, Ill-Allahu, and then say, Ill-Allahu. Recite La-Illaha and then recite Ill-Allahu, and hold steady the Ill-Allahu. Do not just say it in words, dare to understand it with wisdom and faith, faith in the way in which you can hold the meaning that is beyond the boundaries of the two worlds. Hold steady the Ill-Allahu and become it. Hold it within the Qalb and become it. Say La-Illaha and overcome. Say La-Illaha and discard. Say Ill-Allahu and steady Him within. Say Ill-Allahu and steady Him within. Say it without saying and stand there. With your ruh and with your Wisdom, vibrate and face Them, vibrate and face Them. Hold steady Ill-Allahu. That is the explanation in that Light. That is the Light. That is the explanation. That is the death of the world. That is the reality of the One Allahu. That is the reality. If the children take the meaning of this state and recite it, if that Divine Word is said without saying, that state will become the state of personal worship of God. Recite in Truth on this path. That is the Perfection. That is the Perfection and the Word of the Shaikh, the language of your leader Allah. The form within which the ruh and the Light stand in unison. In Truth the Grace which stands in the form of Light. That Grace is the Resonance of Allah, and the Resonance is Allah, and you will be within it. Then our life will become successful in our own lifetime. Then our wisdom will reason over our fate. Then the qualities of our upper selves will become victorious over the qualities of our lower selves. Amen. This is God's guarantee for this age. In this way, allowing the "Power of God" within us to be directly applied to all that is "separating us" from God within us, and from all that is "separating us" from each other on the "outside" of us, and from the Creation of God within us, and in this way, bringing the Creation of God within us to completion within us, finding completion within God's grace, wisdom within our completeness, truth within our wisdom, and the "Oneness of God and True Man" within our truth, within our wisdom, within our completeness, and within God's grace. Original Version His Holiness Teaches Us: "People say that when a disciple is ready, the Shaikh will appear at his side. What is the meaning?" The poet Selvaratnam asked His Holiness Bawa Muhaiyaddeen. His Holiness replied, "O poet, although this question can be answered in one word, let me explain something to you. The outside world is merely an example which illustrates the worlds and universes within us. Every human being, whether it be you or anyone else, carries many worlds and many disciples within himself. Within your mind, you confer with kings, ministers, representatives and messengers. You carry within you princely palaces with towers, infantries, artillery, cavalries, soldier on elephants, navies, airforces and many demonic forces, and you depend on their help. As long as you depend on the world, you are relying on these forces within yourself. But they are changing and perishable and they can let you down. You must place your faith in the one indestructible, imperishable God. To do this, you must stop depending on the kings, forces, and armies within you. When you give up all this and stand defenseless and alone, saying, "O God, it is all Your will," the Shaikh will stand by your side. It is only when you surrender to Allah that the Shaikh who is the explaining wisdom of the Qutbiyaat which guides you on the path to God will come to stand by your side. "Son!" he will say, "now you are ready. Come, let us go." When that time comes, you will no longer be the firewood, you will have become the fire; you will not be the gem, but the light within the gem; you will not be the sun, but the light of the sun; you will not have the world within you, but you will bring resplendence to the world. 2. Original Version His Holiness Teaches Us: The Shaikh says, "My son, let us reflect on prayer. Prayer is that which eliminates all our suffering. What makes us suffer? Everything we see in the world! One who truly wishes to pray must see only Allah. Before his death, he must go to Allah and die in Him in the state of prayer. Then Allah will accept him, lift him up and embrace him. Some meet Allah only after death, when they must face the day of reckoning and judgement, but true prayer is to die in Allah while you are still in the world. If you can understand this with your wisdom, you will realize the wealth of prayer which is the wealth of the three worlds, and you will not have to face the day of reckoning or judgement. 2. Only when the flower blossoms does the fragrance emanate. If your heart is closed, the bliss and the beauty will not be experienced. Only when your heart blooms will the fragrance of grace, the fragrance of wisdom, the fragrance of the soul and the fragrance of Allah's rahmat come forth. It is all there within your heart and when it blooms, its beauty and its fragrance will be revealed. If the heart is open, all those who love this fragrance, all who can appreciated its scent will draw near the heart and say, "O this is beautiful. It has a wonderful fragrance." Those with wisdom will come and appreciate you. Those who can experience this fragrance will realize your beauty. Only when your heart has bloomed will others love you and come in search of that flower of the heart. They will smell that fragrance and recognize the love and beauty in your heart. You must keep the flower of your heart safe. The heart is a flower garden. You must not think that this garden is somewhere outside of you. Some say that heaven is filled with beautiful springs, beautiful houses and gardens. But there is no place called heaven outside you. It is within. All those houses, gardens, fruits and flowers, all the seventy thousand flower fragrances and the seventy thousand tastes of the fruits are within your heart. The river of milk, the river of honey and the river of ambrosia are all within your heart. This is the pure house. The heart is the kingdom of heaven, your father's kingdom. This is your prayer mat, your place of worship. This is the flower garden of your life. Your qualities are the flowers and your actions are the fruits of that garden. Your duty, your love and your loving qualities are the seventy thousand tastes in that fruit. The duties and the actions that you do for God here in the world will become the houris that serve you there. The benefits you earn and what you seek in this world will be the house created for you there. The prayers you perform, the duties you do, the charity and love you give, the unity you have and the lessons you learn are all equal to just one drop. But if you use that one drop and continue to do your duty and keep digging within, then the spring of Allah's grace and his qualities will flow in abundance. If you give Allah just one word, you will be able to hear so many of Allah's words of grace. Even though each effort may equal just one drop, if you constantly search with one-pointedness, there will be a steady dripping which will loosen the soil and allow you to dig deeper. As you dig within, there will be a melting and a dissolving. many springs will open up within you. But if you drip just one drop and think, "I did it! This is so much!" there can be no benefit. God gives abundantly. He does not say,' I am doing this.' You give only one tiny drop of prayer to him, but he gives in abundance. You should think about how much he gives, how he causes things to increase and multiply. You must forget the I. In all your prayers you must surrender and give all responsibility to Allah. Thank you. ---- beginning of some Excerpts from Chapter 01 ----- "Certitude is founded on the Kalima (There is no god, but God); and the Kalima has existed from the beginningless beginning (Awwal) from which it came forth. Whenever you utter the Kalima, know that you do so in the presence of God, and that it is been uttered in the beginningless beginning, in the present and that it shall be uttered in the hereafter. That utterance will be the result of conviction and faith in the truth of the Kalima. I solemnly vow that you, whoever you may be, and that I must utter the Kalima at these three times: In awwal, in this world and in the next world. That Kalima which we have uttered in the time that was beginningless must grow, and it must continue to grow, like a tree. It must grow within the sanctuary of our heart, and it should after a time show strong and firm growth. Not only must we constantly foster the growth of that beautiful tree, but we must induce it to bear fruit, so that the fruits of that tree ripen to perfection and be always delectable. That tree should reflect the mature and ripened fruits of Iman. These fruits of Iman, we must constantly gather in our lives, so that they can satiate our spiritual hunger. How best would that fruit be described? You are aware of the two wings of a bird. It has the gift of flight; it becomes elated and flies high into the sky. But however high it may soar into the sky in the appreciation of the gift of flight, yet it must sometime soon seek a branch of a tree to rest. If there is no such branch it will be compelled to come down to earth. Man is like that too. Whatever spiritual rank or distinction elevates him will be reflected in the tree of his Kalima. That tree would have to have grown and the fruits of his certitude would have to have ripened and matured in the time measured from the beginningless beginning to the end. And if in this time, the tree has grown and the fruit has ripened, then by the very perfection of his iman, he will realize fulfillment in the present and in the time to come. Therefore, to whatever heights he renders worship, he would still be able to rest awhile on the tree of his certitude, like a bird flying in the sky. If his certitude has grown from awwal to akhir, then he can fly with the wings of his worship, and like the flight of a bird on its wings, he can rest awhile on the perfection which is his iman. When this tree has grown up to that center where God reposes in Absolute truth, up to the Throne of God, then he can eat the fruit of certitude there and repose in that state of fulfillment. The growth of the tree of the kalimah must be fostered in order that it will grow with a luxuriant growth and then that it would flower, and then that it would fruit, after which the fruits would mature and begin to ripen. This requires time and the assiduous cultivation of the kalimah, the essence of which is certitude. This is a basic necessity for the present and for the future, for life and for death. It is incumbent upon us to acquire it soon. It is very necessary for every act of worship, for all our prayers, for our many methods of worship and prayer, and finally for the contentment to be derived from that certitude.
